George M. Unger, 48, of Los Angeles, CA, tragically passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Born in Park Ridge, IL on April 25, 1963. George was the son of the late George P. Unger and Nancy Unger; devoted spouse to Neil Winder; brother of Barbara, Thomas (Lee), Daniel, James (Elaine), Mary (Bob) Rolston and Jeanette (George) Karr; beloved uncle to many heartbroken nieces and nephews. A graduate of the Univ. of Illinois College of Engineering (1986), George left the Chicago area in 1989 and moved to Orlando, FL before moving to Los Angeles, CA in 1996. George was a well-rounded individual exposed to diverse cultures and a variety of hobbies/sports at a tender age. He truly enjoyed the games of golf and tennis, was an accomplished pianist and had a never-ending appreciation for the Arts (Broadway Shows, Musical Theatre, Operas and Symphonies). George was a gentle and kindhearted soul, who touched so many lives and constantly sought ways to contribute or help his neighbor. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 - Southminister Presbyterian Church, 608 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Lakeside Golf Club, 4500 Lakeside Drive, Burbank, CA.
